Photography & CD Cover Design

Limiter EP.

The Limiter EP project is a comprehensive visual realization for a music release. The scope of work included a professional studio photoshoot, advanced photo post-production, and a complete graphic design for the physical CD release. Key aspects involved rigorous print preparation (DTP), creating realistic 3D mockups, and overseeing production to ensure the highest quality of the final product.

Tools: Lighroom, Photoshop, Illustrator

The process began with a studio photoshoot that set a dark, raw tone for the entire release. After a strict selection process, the chosen photographs underwent detailed editing and retouching. These images served as the foundation for a cohesive graphic design, combining dark imagery with bold, blood-red typography that perfectly captures the EP's vibe.

The most demanding stage was the prepress phase. The design was precisely laid out on a die-cut template. Strict adherence to printing house guidelines was maintained, including proper bleeds, safety margins, CMYK color profile conversion, and ink limits. This eliminated the risk of errors during the printing process.

3D mockups of the Limiter EP CD digipack, showcasing both the open folder with the disc inside and the closed front cover design

Before sending the files to production, realistic 3D mockups were created. They allowed for the visualization of the finished digipack and CD print, making it easier to finalize and approve proportions and the spatial arrangement of all elements.

The end result is a highly refined physical release of the Limiter EP. Precise planning and supervision at every stage-from the camera shutter release to receiving the copies from the pressing plant-resulted in a product that 100% reflects the initial artistic vision.
